My Bio:
I've been a part of the Mountain Team since 2005 and over the last few years, from my time on the early early Morning Show to my current residence on the late night Chill Side, it's been a total blast! I love being a part of this team. Each member of the Mountain family is kind and thoughtful and we all share deep love of music and service in the community.

I was born on the east coast and lived in Cape Town, South Africa in my early years. The music of Africa was the first genre that I was exposed to and I think it must have been in those formative years that my passion for music was set into motion. I spent years living in Texas, California and Michigan before making my way to Tucson in 2004 to study at a Buddhist university in the area.

Music has always been an integral part of my life - choir all throughout school, singing jazz in coffee shops as a teenager in California, and my first job out of college was writing music reviews for an online music magazine. It was in that job that I was introduced to many different styles of music. I grew to love the blues, country music, indie pop... everything. It was during those years that my original love of the music of other cultures completely flourished.

In addition to my work on The Mountain, I also work as a yoga teacher in town at Yoga Oasis, where I regularly incorporate Chill Side music into my classes. Sometimes ambient, sometimes full on rocking, Chill Side music is always a perfect compliment of the practice of yoga. I've been teaching yoga for eight years and it's my deepest passion. Often my work as a yoga and philosophy teacher takes me away from Tucson and to exotic places like India, the Middle East and all throughout the States. Of course, it's wonderful to travel so much, but I'm always thrilled to come back home.

When I'm not on the air or teaching yoga, I can be found making really bad art, cooking some strange new dish to subject my loved-ones to, reading a book on Buddhism or watching the latest movie. I confess: I'm a total film junkie. I'm a double Taurus with an affinity for dark chocolate and I love salsa dancing.

If I were stranded on an island and could take ten albums (if ipods weren't allowed), they'd be:

1. Radiohead - Kid A
2. Neil young - Harvest Moon
3. anything by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
4. Bobby McFerrin - Circle Songs
5. Coldplay - Parachutes
6. The Beatles - Abbey Road
7. Nick Drake - Way to Blue
8. Ray LaMontagne - Till the Sun Turns Black
9. Zero 7 - When it Falls
10. Ella Fitzgerald - The Best of
